Seattle and Tacoma take different spring weeks in 2027: Seattle lists April 12–16, while Tacoma lists April 5–9. Seattle also has a full February midwinter week, while Tacoma’s February entries are shorter closures.

Seattle Public Schools
Most elementary and K–8 schools also close November 23–25 for conferences; most middle schools remain open. Kindergarten and preschool begin September 8. June 22–23 are potential make-up days.
Tacoma Public Schools
Kindergarten starts September 14. February 16 is a teacher workday. February 12, May 28 and June 24–25 are snow make-up dates if needed.

Grade-level Thanksgiving differences matter in Seattle
Seattle’s main Thanksgiving holidays are November 26–27, but most elementary and K–8 schools also close November 23–25 for conferences; most middle schools remain open. Tacoma instead lists November 25–27 as its holiday block. Kindergarten starts later than grades 1–12 in both districts. The scheduled year endings are June 21 in Seattle and June 23 in Tacoma, with possible emergency make-up dates after those endings.
