Ann Arbor’s 2026–27 year begins and ends with half days. Its spring break starts Friday, March 26 and continues through April 2, 2027, while the February interruption is a long weekend rather than a full vacation week.

Ann Arbor Public Schools

Updated August 11, 2026. The first and last days are half days. Early fall break is October 9 and 12; mid-winter break February 12 and 15. Preschools use a separate calendar.

Recess dates follow the linked calendars; adjacent staff days and holidays can extend a student's time away. “See official calendar” means that field has not been verified here. Recheck the source for revisions before arranging care or travel.

Ann Arbor’s half days affect pickup as well as travel

The district starts students August 31 and ends June 16, both with half-day attendance. Early fall break is October 9 and 12; mid-winter break is February 12 and 15. Preschool calendars are separate. Families should also distinguish school-level report-writing and testing arrangements from districtwide recesses, because an elementary half day does not necessarily shorten the high-school day.
