Utah School Breaks 2026–2027
Utah’s state education board publishes district-by-district calendars, and its 2026–27 report shows a substantial spring gap: Washington County takes March 8–12, 2027, while Canyons takes April 5–9. A single statewide spring week would miss that difference.

Calendar details that affect days off
Canyons School District
Dates reported to the Utah State Board of Education. Opening institute dates are staff dates, separate from the first day for students.
Washington County School District

Recess dates follow the linked calendars; adjacent staff days and holidays can extend a student's time away. “See official calendar” means that field has not been verified here. Recheck the source for revisions before arranging care or travel.
St. George and Canyons are four weeks apart
The two examples share November 25–27 for Thanksgiving and October 15–16 for fall recess, yet their winter endings also differ. Washington County’s listed winter holiday extends through January 4; Canyons’ named holiday ends January 1. The state report separates opening institute dates from student openings. Use its “First Day” column when planning the August transition, and follow the district link for additional no-school dates.

Is Washington County’s spring break the same as Canyons’?
No. Washington County lists March 8–12, 2027; Canyons lists April 5–9, four weeks later.
Are Utah opening institute dates student start dates?
They are separate columns in the education board’s report. Washington County’s student start is August 13; Canyons’ is August 17, 2026.
