Evansville Vanderburgh’s 2026–27 calendar uses an August start split by student surname. It then schedules full October and March recesses, with some staff-development dates still carrying asynchronous assignments for students.

Calendar details that affect days off

Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation

Staggered start August 10–13 by surname; all students attend August 14. January 4 is a staff development day. Some no-school days include asynchronous assignments.

Recess dates follow the linked calendars; adjacent staff days and holidays can extend a student's time away. “See official calendar” means that field has not been verified here. Recheck the source for revisions before arranging care or travel.

The first August week does not mean daily attendance for everyone

Students with surnames K–Z attend August 10–11, students A–J attend August 12–13, and everyone attends August 14. Fall break is October 12–16 and spring break March 22–26, 2027. October 28 and March 17 are marked no school/staff development with asynchronous assignments sent home. Parents need to read those learning expectations alongside the closure label when deciding what care or supervision is required.
