Columbus and Cincinnati’s spring breaks partially overlap in 2027 but cover different weeks. Columbus’ traditional calendar runs March 26–April 2; Cincinnati lists March 22–26 and reopens March 29.

Calendar details that affect days off
Columbus City Schools — traditional
Traditional calendar; year-round and pre-K calendars differ. March 25 is also a records day with no student attendance. Kindergarten begins August 25.
Cincinnati Public Schools
Calendar updated September 11, 2026. January 4 is a staff professional development day; schools reopen January 5.
Recess dates follow the linked calendars; adjacent staff days and holidays can extend a student's time away. “See official calendar” means that field has not been verified here. Recheck the source for revisions before arranging care or travel.

Columbus also publishes a separate year-round schedule
The Columbus row here is the traditional calendar. Its year-round and pre-K versions have different openings, intersessions and year endings. Cincinnati’s September 2026 update lists May 25 as the final student day, compared with May 27 in traditional Columbus schools. Both schedules include a full Thanksgiving week. Staff-only dates after winter recess or before spring break can extend student time away beyond the named vacation block.

Can I use Columbus’ traditional dates for a year-round student?
No. The district publishes a separate year-round calendar with its own intersessions and start/end dates.
Do Cincinnati students stay out through April 2 in 2027?
Its calendar lists spring break March 22–26 and reopening March 29. April 2 belongs to the longer Columbus spring window, not Cincinnati’s.
