Minneapolis and Anoka-Hennepin start students after Labor Day in 2026, but their 2027 spring breaks are a week apart. The calendars also use different December starts for winter time away.

Calendar details that affect days off
Anoka-Hennepin Schools
Grades 1–5, 6 and 9 start September 8; all grades report September 9. November 25 is also a student day off. October 15–16 is the MEA break.
Minneapolis Public Schools
Pre-K and kindergarten begin September 10. MEA break is October 15–16, with family-teacher conferences on October 14. April 2 is a record-keeping day before spring break.

Twin Cities calendars need a district-level comparison
Minneapolis takes April 5–9 for spring break, while Anoka-Hennepin lists March 29–April 2 including its holiday entries. Both name October 15–16 for MEA, with Minneapolis adding family-teacher conferences October 14. Anoka-Hennepin stages the September opening by grade; Minneapolis starts pre-K and kindergarten later than grades 1–12. June endings differ too: June 10 for Anoka-Hennepin and June 11 for Minneapolis.
