Hartford and New Haven align on April 12–16, 2027 for spring recess and December 24–January 1 for winter holidays. Their student openings and June endings differ, and both calendars include smaller interruptions outside those vacation weeks.

New Haven Public Schools
The district’s 10-month student calendar. Three Kings Day on January 6 is a separate holiday soon after the winter return.
Hartford Public Schools
First two student days have early release for professional learning. February 12 and 16 are also no-school days around Presidents’ Day; make-up days can extend the June finish.
Recess dates follow the linked calendars; adjacent staff days and holidays can extend a student's time away. “See official calendar” means that field has not been verified here. Recheck the source for revisions before arranging care or travel.
April aligns, while August and June do not
Hartford begins August 25 and schedules an early-release finish June 11. New Haven starts August 31 and lists June 17 as its last day. Hartford’s February 12 professional learning day joins the February 15–16 closures around Presidents’ Day. New Haven also identifies Three Kings Day on January 6, shortly after winter recess. These details make a school-year calendar more useful than a federal-holiday checklist for a household moving between the two cities.
