Philadelphia and Allentown publish different spring holiday blocks in 2027. Philadelphia’s March 22–26 recess/holiday is followed by a staff day; Allentown lists March 25–30, with some dates available for emergency make-up.

Calendar details that affect days off
School District of Philadelphia
Kindergarten starts August 27. November 25 and March 29 are full staff professional development days with no school for students, adjoining the named recesses. Uses the calendar amended in February 2026.
Allentown School District
November 25 is also a conference day with no students. February 12, March 25 and March 30 can become emergency student make-up days. Last student day has early dismissal.

Use the amended Philadelphia calendar and Allentown’s conditions
Philadelphia’s February 2026 amendments make November 25 and March 29 full staff-only development days. Its last student day is a full day June 9. Allentown adds November 30 to its Thanksgiving holidays and ends June 10 with early dismissal. Its March 25 and March 30 holiday entries can be used for student make-up after emergency closings, so the spring block needs a current confirmation before travel.
